BusinessFlow: Key Benefits for Aviation Companies
Back to Industries

The challenge MainStreet's BusinessFlow addresses for aviation companies better than any other software company or solution is the dynamic attribution of unique inventories (parts) as they move through their product lifecycle. Very basically, BusinessFlow enables the definition of data fields to be captured on any object in the system (inventory items, purchase orders, customer orders, customers, etc) and makes that information accessible based on venue and security levels. An example is for a single piece of unique inventory, BusinessFlow retains all of the descriptive elements for the part, its current conditional state, its complete repair and service history with documentation (pdfs, urls, etc), who touched the part at any time, and any and other data you would like to capture. The software then has a business policy configurator to determine how the part will be handled as it moves through sales channels or through the internal logistics of your company.

The upshot of these capabilities is full track-and-trace, accountability for all aspects of each inventory part, and a hierarchically designed inheritance structure for the implementation of business policies across all channels that can be managed at any level of granularity, from company-wide down to a specific configuration for a single unique part in the system.

To take a very brief broader look at the software, MainStreet's BusinessFlow software for aerospace companies automates and integrates functions including procurement, inventory management, marketing, sales, payment processing, fulfillment, and customer service. Orders into the system come via purchase orders, telephone, Web, Intranet, catalog, mail, fax, eBay, and remote orders generated by the field sales force.

BusinessFlow is built purely on .NET and is highly configurable and extensible. Integration with legacy, third party software, and other entities including third party logistics providers is done through our Web Services interface.

Key functions automated and integrated by BusinessFlow include:
  • Keeps compliance and repair documents digitally attached to inventory
  • Controls serialized inventory
  • Allows and unlimited number of descriptive fields for inventory and for orders
  • Track and trace inventory through the supply chain including servicing records
  • Enables fulfillment from multiple vendors and multiple warehouses to multiple shipping points
  • Enables drop shipments
  • Enables contractual pricing, negotiated pricing, and unlimited pricing tiers
  • Enabled remote order entry for a field sales force
  • Publishes an online catalog or Intranet through Web Services and a set of MainStreet .NET controls
MainStreet is highly configurable and extensible. Integration with legacy, third party software, and other entities including third party logistics providers is done through our Web Services interface.  To provide a sense of the high degree of configurability afforded by BusinessFlow, the system has a complex hierarchical category engine that enables system administrators to apply attributes and business policies at any level. These attributes and business policies are inherited by every sub-level, may be overridden at any level, and may be applied to any object in the system.

These are among the many strengths of MainStreet's architecture and features.  Please visit the BusinessFlow section of our Website a for a detailed look at BusinessFlow.
